My name is Ashlyn. I am a PhD Student at Northeastern University in Bioengineering, with a passion for teaching. I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. I have experience teaching high school and undergraduate levels. My primary specialty is physics curriculums for high school and college levels (with and without calculus). I mentored Physics 1 at RPI for 3 years. I was also a mentor for freshman college students for 3 years, encouraging students to develop the skills needed to succeed in rigorous programs. I also have experience with high school biology and chemistry as well as math courses including algebra- calculus.
I love teaching students and adapting my teaching styles to each individual student. While teaching the subject matter is at the forefront of each session, I also like to incorporate general problem solving skills and practices that make being a student easier. I strive to create a safe space for all identities and individuals, making the most proactive environment for learning. Contact me to inquire about a tutoring service!
